Hair Gloss – What is Hair Glossing?

Hair Gloss

Hair gloss is a conditioner treatment that provides your hair with a natural shine. There are many individuals who have naturally shiny hair. Others, however, are not so fortunate—but a hair gloss treatment can give your hair that extra shine it needs to look beautiful. This method by which one’s hair becomes shiny is known as hair glossing.

You can give yourself a gloss treatment by performing the following steps. First, you must shampoo your hair. If you wash your hair on a daily basis, you probably put styling chemicals into your hair to give it an extra boost or healthy look. You will need to shampoo your hair to get rid of other chemicals that are in it. Additionally, shampooing your hair will remove other chemicals that will frustrate the glossing treatment and allow your hair to receive as much of the glossing treatment as it can. After all, you do want your hair to be as shiny as can be—correct?

After your hair is washed and clean of any other hair chemicals, you will need to mix the glossing treatment. This consists of taking a color gloss conditioner with a radiance color infuser and mixing them in a bottle together. The goal is to provide several glossing treatments in one so as not to repeat the same long process over and over again. You want the glossing treatment to be as effective as possible while requiring as few hours as possible. Read the box of the glossing treatment to see how much of the mixture you need to create. The amount of gloss mixture you need depends on the length and texture of your hair. If you have long hair and/or thick hair, you will need a substantial amount of the glossing treatment. If you have short hair and/or thin hair, you will not need as much. Once the solutions are combined, shake up the mixture so as to ensure the mixture thoroughly integrates the gloss treatment and the radiance infuser. If the mixture is not thorough, the results will not be thorough and excellent, either.

Apply the gloss treatment to all of your hair. You want to make sure that every part of your hair is covered with glossing treatment. A thorough glossing treatment, like a thorough washing, will get the job done. When you finish placing the glossing treatment on your hair, seal off your hair by using a plastic cap to cover the treatment from the air elements. Take a break and relax for 20-30 minutes. If you want to take a nap, watch television, or read, sit back and wait for the glossing treatment to take its course. If you want to read, take a small nap, or watch television, be sure to set a timer alarm to go off after 30 minutes so you can remember to get up and proceed to the next steps.

The glossing treatment has been applied, and your hair has experienced the treatment. Now, it is time to rinse the hair gloss mixture out of your hair. Use cold water to clear the glossing chemicals out of your hair and prepare to blow dry and style it. Conclude the wash with a deep conditioner treatment. This is the same as if you were doing a routine shampoo for your hair. Rinse the deep conditioner after letting it absorb into your hair for thirty minutes. Once the deep conditioner rinse is done, you will be so pleased with how your hair turns out.

Some hair gloss products that you can use are the following:

  • Clairol Radiance Moisture-Rich Colorgloss
  • John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze
  • Revlon Conditioning Color Glaze
  • Redken Shades EQ
  • Frederic Fekkai Salon Glaze

John Frieda’s Luminous Color Glaze costs about $10 and can be found at Target, among other stores. The John Frieda hair gloss treatment can be used three minutes a day for seven days, or twenty minutes for one day a week.  Clairol tends to be a glossing treatment that can be found virtually everywhere, including your local Walmart, Target, and other major retail stores. It comes in twenty-one shades and can gloss your hair in as little as fifteen minutes. Frederic Fekkai is a salon hair glaze that costs $28 and can be bought from major brand name stores such as Neiman Marcus. The Fekkai product is one that professional salon services recommend highly—which is why the name speaks for itself. Salon services typically use a clear hair gloss treatment for their customers. The Revlon conditioner can be used once a week, and the Redken Shades EQ treatment requires the longest in-hair time of the glossing treatments mentioned—a significant twenty-five minutes!

Hair glossing treatments provide a shiny solution to hair that has lost its luster. Glossing treatments last anywhere from fifteen to twenty-five minutes and can be as inexpensive as $10 or as expensive as $28 and up. You should research glossing treatments and learn which ones are best for you before you purchase one. Remember: if there are no positive reviews about the hair gloss treatment, it is probably because there is nothing positive to say about it at all.
